Er, when y’all get uppity and talk about ‘bad’ yarns and ‘bad’ patterns — um, Lion is in business, so aren’t you really talking about the ‘bad’ taste in patterns and yarns that seems to sell to a big segment of the market with similar ‘bad’ taste in patterns and yarns? If it was a product that had no appeal in the marketplace, it wouldn’t sell.

Not quite my taste in yarns or patterns either, but business is business — and demand is demand. But I’m not sure the seller is at fault (yeah yeah, we could discuss ‘push’ vs. ‘pull’ marketing if you want — but why bother…).

Yeah, we all have ‘better’ taste than Lion anything or Red Heart sells. Then again, I think some of those ‘crap’ yarns are great values for what you pay for them, compared to boutique novelty crap or inflated prices for basics that a lot of companies are charging.

What does the poncho thing tell you? What do their best-seller yarns tell you? That there’s a really big market out there you’re not in synch with
