Stumped childhood

These coloured pencil brooches remind me of my elementary school playground.

What I prefer, however, is the lion ring.

(Found while idly following links from Erica Weiner. The description of the unknitted scarf skeins reminded me of scarves for sale at Benetton a couple of years ago–strands of bulky yarn, held together with rows of machine stitching running perpendicular to the yarn. You could replicate the effect with a sewing machine and water-soluble stabilizer, in the manner of free lace/thread quilting/whatever it’s called.

Those scarf skeins look a lot like Laura Bryant’s Prism yarn “Wild Stuff” (and other “Stuff” yarns. Except that Laura has all the yarns tied together.

I could make a fortune with my mil’s stash of water color pencils. Assuming I could find enough idiots to buy these instead of making them for themselves.
