The fact that elann will be selling Elsebeth Lavold Angora on July 28 tells me that the second thoughts that made me put this yarn back on the shelf last year (or earlier this year, I can’t remember) were correct. Either it wasn’t a sales success, or there’s yet another sordid story involving mills and distributors in back of it. My gut goes for the former explanation. Angora yarns tend to shed too much, and I like to wear black.

Note that while elann correctly states the suggested retail price of $9.95 US, most online retailers sell the yarn for about $7.95, so the elann price isn’t its usual huge saving. A bit of googling will turn up one retailer listing its last few skeins at $4.40.

This yarn was reputed to shed like CRAZY. I bought a skein to play with a year ago and never got to it. . . i heard from the rep that it didn’t sell at all.

The 2 yarn stores in my town haven’t been able to move that particular yarn even on sale. I love the silky wool but hated the feel of the angora.
