(if you're looking for…)

I’ve had some requests about The Alice Chronicles, mainly…

  • where are they?
  • and

  • will there be any more?

They’re still around, you just can’t find them without a Google search, ha ha. No, really, it’s because the old journal page automatically forwards to this one, so you don’t get a chance to view the old entries. But they’re available from this archives page. Specifically, the Chronicles are here, here, and here.

I’ll reformat the first three parts shortly and add them to this database, where they will be searchable just like the rest of the new entries.

You can see from the archives page that there’s a dead link for Part Four. I always planned that there would be, and I even had bits and pieces of the draft lying around, but I never got around to revising and uploading. I will do it once I find those pieces again, probably soon. Part Four was meant to be a tidying-up piece, tying off some loose ends and leaving the general impression that the world is again at peace (knitting-wise, that is).

The first three parts, by the way, were published before I added commenting functionality to my site. Typically the comments I received via e-mail were innocuous; people were glad they had some explanation why the coveted Alice Starmore-branded yarns were discontinued at the height of their popularity. I received one or two that chastised me for vilifying the well-known designer; one of them was from a person claiming to be a friend of hers, who was motivated to write to me because it would be beneath Herself to stoop to the level of responding to the spurious allegations in the Chronicles, and so she took that task on herself. This response essentially boiled down to “how do you know” and “how dare you.”

Yes, yes, how do I know and how dare I indeed.
